Omdat de muzikanten na de feesttocht een half uur te voet naar deze plek waren gemarcheerd, hadden ze zo&#8217;n grote eetlust dat de waard volgens de kroniek nauwelijks iets aan het gezelschap verdiende.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Slecht weer en vermissing:<\/strong> Na de muzikale optredens in Welkenraedt wilde de vereniging aan de terugreis beginnen, maar hevige regen vertraagde het vertrek met twee uur. Tijdens deze wachttijd gingen twee leden en twee aspiranten in het dorp op pad en bleven onvindbaar.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vertrek \u201ezonder genade\u201c:<\/strong> Toen de hemel weer opklaarde, beval het bestuur het vertrek. Hoewel de vier mannen nog steeds ontbraken, reed de rest van het gezelschap rond 7 uur &#8217;s ochtends \u201ezonder genade of erbarmen\u201c terug naar Vaals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>De triomfale intocht van de achterblijvers:<\/strong> De vier afwezigen keerden pas in de loop van de volgende middag terug.
